We live in a generation where the average woman in every city or urban setup has a makeup purse/bag or box. In other words most women these days are makeup products junkies, and I stand to be corrected. In the following series we will be bringing to you makeup and beauty products that can fit any pocket and have the same effect as our luxury brands. And of course where to get them.

Hello there! Hope you had a restful weekend? These days, we tend to get caught up with the weekend activity that we don’t even take time out to rest and before you know it, it’s Monday again! I find myself in that situation quite often also; there is a wedding every other Saturday and one birthday or the other on Sunday that at the end of the weekend I am scrambling to make sure that I get enough sleep and not show up tired at work on Monday. Today we are going to talk about how to show up looking flawless on a Monday morning! 

The key to great make-up is a great SKIN. We are going to be reviewing different kinds of makeup and the types you can use for different occasions later on however, one aspect we always neglect is the foundation and powder applicator; brushes! Brushes are an important key to really making a make-up application look its best. Most times, what makes your makeup look different from that of a professional’s is the fact that they use the right kind of brushes for application. You want to invest in different brushes however start with the basic; powder brushes, foundation brush, eye shadow brush and lip brush. Professionals have as much as 32 brushes! But hey, that’s why we call on them when we won’t to look special right? Apart from getting the brushes, the first thing you want to make sure you have is a storage container for your brushes. They should be completely separate from all your products. Also, you want to wash your brushes regularly. Now, if you use make-up every day, you should wash them with a clarifying shampoo. If you don't use your brushes as often, just try using a brush cleaner. Check your regular makeup or even drug stores for good brush cleaners and you can use them daily, just place it on a napkin, and wash the bushes, easy to go. A good DIY way to clean your brush with baby shampoo Step 1: In a small bowl or glass, combine1 cup warm water with 1 tablespoon Baby Shampoo. Step 2: Swoosh one brush at a time around in the mixture to clean. Step 3: Rinse with water to remove all traces of soap. Rinse and repeat until the water runs clear. Make sure when you are rinsing to keep the brush hairs pointing down. Step 4: Reshape each brush and lay them on a clean paper towel to dry completely before using. Never let your brushes dry standing up in their brush holder, the water can loosen the glue holding the brush together over time. It is important your brushes are in good condition because they may harbor bacteria that cause infection and make your face break out. The target is to clean your brushes every once a week but it’s get quite busy; yes. Try to do it about twice a month. Eating healthy and drinking fluids is great for your skin, however make sure your brushes are in neat and well taken care of to eliminate issues form that department. Cheers!
